Alleys and other “out-of-the-way” spaces often get neglected and shortchanged in the streetscape design and budgeting process, leaving them uninspired, unattractive and often times unsafe. StreetPrint – Genuine Stamped Asphalt provides a practical, durable, safe, and affordable way to transform alleyways into livable community spaces using low-cost asphalt pavement. Not only can StreetPrint enhance the quality of the alleyway surface it also promotes the perception of the alley as a pedestrian realm and can be a traffic calming mechanism as well.

Here are three examples of community alleyway redevelopment projects recently completed.

This alleyway in Lebanon, PA provides access from a parking area to a very popular Farmers Market. Originally intended to be paved with just plain asphalt, they used StreetPrint in a herringbone brick pattern to make a much more pleasant environment with a more inviting pedestrian scale and texture.

Scranton, PA is in the middle of a major redevelopment effort with streetscape improvements, building renovations and a significant revival of downtown commerce. As part of their efforts, streets are being repaired and resurfaced, storefronts upgraded, and new pedestrian spaces are being created or improved. Like any downtown, there are off-the-beaten-path connectors and alleys that need to be addressed. StreetPrint provides an attractive, low-cost way to upgrade these typically drab and uninviting areas and make them much more pedestrian-friendly.
